Pre-judgment or post-judgment, M&A or matrimonial, the question we get retained to answer is the same: what does this person or entity actually own?

An asset search is the discipline of mapping a subject's footprint — real property, business interests, vehicles, mortgages, judgments, bankruptcy history, sometimes more — through public records, paid data sources, and where appropriate, GLBA-compliant inquiries.

Done well, the deliverable supports collection strategy, settlement valuation, or a defensible decision to walk away.

What we look for

  • Real property — nationwide ownership search with current valuations and encumbrances.
  • Business interests — registered entities, officers, registered agents, related filings.
  • Personal property — vehicles, vessels, aircraft, UCC filings.
  • Financial signals — judgments, liens, bankruptcies, foreclosure history, mortgage activity.
  • Indicators of concealment — patterns suggesting straw ownership, recent transfers, or layered entities.

What we deliver

A written report identifying assets located, with sources and confidence levels. Where the picture is incomplete, we say so — and identify what additional steps could close the gap and at what cost.
